Patience

A picture is worth a thousand words – explicit and implicit, exposed and hidden.

Exercise session 8 January 2024

If anyone were to look at the photo above they would have probably thought that we were having the day of our lives.

At that particular brief moment we probably did.

But there’s always more than meets the eyes; by default life is full of surprises – this is especially true when there is a special child in your life.

Yesterday was supposed to be a relatively normal and dull day but as usual it turned out to be rather an eventful afternoon. The closure was Ruzain throwing a fit during our usual exercise session.

To be honest, it was pretty exhausting.

I’ve been trying to hold on tight to this hadith I found on resilience, praying hard that I always view life in this perspective. Sometimes it is hard but I know it is truth, and this vicious cycle of ups and downs is what teaches us about life, to learn to appreciate it more regardless of what may come.

Wondrous is the affair of the believer for there is good for him in every matter and this is not the case with anyone except the believer. If he is happy, then he thanks Allah and thus there is good for him, and if he is harmed, then he shows patience and thus there is good for him

And definitely, in whatever form it comes, in the end:

So, surely with hardship comes ease.
