Today I stumbled upon a news article: 10,650 attendees of the tabligh<\/em> gathering has been traced where 10,553 of them have already been checked by the Health ministry. 

513 tested positive with 4,986 samples taken, 2,559 negative and the remaining pending results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thus far, 1 passed away – May Allah bless his soul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I continue to be amazed by the heroes from the Health ministry, and for this particular effort I am sure there are many other government agencies involved as well. Tracking down close to 11,000 people isn\u2019t an easy feat – for sure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Salute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also sending appreciation to all the attendees of the tabligh<\/em> gathering, who came out, registered, declared and got yourself tested. We know that the public has been saying a lot of negative stuff about the movement, but nevertheless you still came out and declare. Maybe a small group of you was stubborn, but I am sure majority came out as promptly possible. 

So – thank you for doing the right thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What had happened, has happened but reacting to it in the right way is what is more important – it reflects our character to the outside world, particularly what we represent. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All of us should appreciate and not take it lightly this simple act of declaring and registering as it makes a lot of difference – it helps the authorities to keep tap on how many more potentials are out there not tested. It increases our chances of curbing the spread of this deadly virus further.

I also found out that the authorities are trying hard to find almost 2,000 Rohingya men who also attended the gathering. A bigger challenge as this group of people don\u2019t have any form of identity documentation – naturally it further discourages checking. Their lives have been challenging back at home, and now here they are exposed to this deadly virus in asylum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But that\u2019s so much for them. The bigger question is – what about us? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are we doing about it? Why are some of us so stubborn (is it ignorance or idiocy?) still being out there on the streets?\u00a0

Why are there people who act like they are better than everyone else, acting aggressively towards authorities when all they are doing is putting stubborn people like you at the right place?\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

O you who believe, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you. <\/strong>Then, if you quarrel about something, revert it back to Allah and the Messenger, if you believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is good, and the best at the end<\/p>An-Nisa 4 : 59<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

How irresponsible can you be, putting everyone else in danger? 

What\u2019s wrong with you?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spend in the way of Allah and do not put yourselves into destruction, <\/strong>and do good. Of course, Allah loves those who do good.<\/p>Al-Baqarah 2 : 195<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

I get it, you don\u2019t have it (yet?) but it\u2019s this attitude, the message you send to others, setting the wrong example for the young ones – \u201cgo break the rule, put yourself in danger, what is there to lose?\u201c

Let me put it on the table for you, there is a lot to lose – life to little, health to some, and money, to many. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Prophet (PBUH) advised to: \u201cTake benefit of five before five: Your youth before your old age, your health before your sickness<\/strong>, your wealth before your poverty<\/strong>, your free time before you are preoccupied, and your life before your death<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>Narrated by Ibn Abbas and reported by Al Hakim<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t you get it? Will you ever get it? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t know. Maybe it\u2019s really the strength of an army (literally) that can put sense into you.

The soft hands of the medics have been fighting at the frontlines all this while, exposed to constant danger. Now the hard muscles of the authorities might have to come out (also exposed to danger) to keep things in control and checked.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From a comfortable restrictive order where you feel safe going outside to get necessities, thanks to you, those irresponsible Malaysians, now might come times that I wish kids didn\u2019t have to experience – an authoritative order.
