{"id":2386,"date":"2024-01-03T14:29:53","date_gmt":"2024-01-03T06:29:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.wanahmadnajib.com\/?p=2386"},"modified":"2024-01-03T18:53:15","modified_gmt":"2024-01-03T10:53:15","slug":"happy-birthday-daddy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wanahmadnajib.com\/?p=2386","title":{"rendered":"Happy Birthday Daddy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>He would have been 75 years old today.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has become a routine every time this year that I would naturally write about him, my late dad &#8211; Wan Ahmad Lotfi, fondly known to family and friends as Pi, Pak Wan or Pakcik.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To me &#8211; he was daddy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ve always been a mama\u2019s boy but I\u2019ve always been told I resemble my dad a lot in many ways. As I grew older, I\u2019ve come to realized there\u2019s truth to these claims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We grew closer as I grew older &#8211; he wasn\u2019t always around when I was growing up. But later in life, our relationship became more like friends, where he literally became friends with mine &#8211; especially colleagues from work. I would leave for home, he would continue teh tarik sessions with them. At one point, there were times I wasn\u2019t even joining those sessions &#8211; he was just out with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This was probably because he was also an insurance practitioner &#8211; one of the Bumiputra pioneers of life insurance industry in Malaysia. One thing for sure, people loved him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When I started in the industry back in 2003, he was my main source of reference. At that time, I was in love with the general insurance business and never thought I would follow his footsteps into the life business. 3 years after in 2006 I joined PruBSN, leading to where i today &#8211; I have now become a true and true family takaful practitioner.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But one thing I learned from him for sure was the meaning of unconditional love and care to everyone, regardless who they are, where they came from.
