It hit me last night that it’s not even 2 weeks of the MCO yet. And there’s another 2 weeks more added from the original plan making it a month. By the rate it’s going, I won’t be surprised if more weeks will be added on soon.
Yesterday, the Director-General of Health openly acknowledged the COVID-19 peak by mid-April forecasts made by JP Morgan and Malaysian Institute of Economic Research. It would be good if we managed to keep the cases up to 5,000 cases he said.
We’ll be lucky if this period doesn’t spillover to Ramadhan and I know I’ve mentioned this before, don’t think most of us are ready to spend Eid Fitri at home far from our family and loved ones (for many).
We’re already hearing of stricter movement control requirements expected to be imposed at certain red flag areas (or is to all? – probably all) soon. Can’t blame the government for wanting to do this (with the current trend and level of idiocy of some – I’m actually supportive of the move) considering the stubbornness of many Malaysians out there.
Today, received a sad news that one of my neighbors passed away from COVID-19. I don’t personally know him (he was elderly man, slightly older than my late dad), but probably saw him a few times at the mosque. Everyone who knew him shared that he was a nice and pious man who loved the Quran. The family shared that even when he was sick on bed and being taken care of, his lips never stopped reciting the Quran. Allah loves him more.
اِنَّالِلَه وَاِنَّااِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُوْنَ
اَللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ وَعَافِهِ وَاعْفُ عَنْهُ
May Allah bless and place his soul among the faithful.
By the way, he is not related to the tabligh cluster, he probably contracted it when he came back from an overseas trip.
Also – we need to stop being judgmental.
What we need right now is for everyone to stand together and collectively fight this by abiding to the simple rule that requires self-discipline.
