It’s been forever since I did a posting.
Instead I’ve been doing a lot of talks last year, talking to various audiences from different age groups and segments on various topics: takaful, digital, covid-19, etc.
It was fun.
Yesterday was the highlight of it all where the most enjoyable recording I did in 2020 got premiered: Episode 5 of the “Kecil-Kecil, Celik Duit” series – my first attempt at doing a talk show with kids (probably an over-matured kid myself, stuck in an old man’s body).
Episode 5: “Apakah risiko kewangan dan apa itu takaful?”
(What are financial risks and what is takaful?)
8 January 2021
The topic was on managing financial risks, mainly talking about how takaful can play a critical role in doing this – but in a language that kids would understand.

I had the chance to work with a brilliant 10 year old girl, Zara – a Harry Potter die hard fan (based on the books not the movies), who besides her smartness was warm, bubbly and fun.
I was enjoying myself between bloopers just chatting away with her – can’t remember what we were talking about but we were laughing quite a bit. It was also when I discovered she was a walking Harry Potter encyclopedia.

Another person behind the scenes that worked hard in making it all happen (the entire “Kecil-Kecil, Celik Duit” series) is an amazing lady by the name of Era Natasha.
She was the one who came out with the entertaining yet educational storyline and base script, specially written with the intended audience in mind – our children of the future.
Another one of Natasha’s work that became my favorite episode would be the one featuring Intan (it was her debut too) where she spent time with Zara talking about budgeting.
Episode 2: “Bajet itu apa dan kenapa kita perlukan bajet?”
(What is budget and why do we need one?)
25 November 2020
One thing I’m sincerely impressed with Natasha (probably why the results came out so good) is her drive and passion in producing meaningful content. She went through all the hassle to do an in-depth research of the 6 topics before coming out with the script – I spent a good 45 minutes (if I recall correctly – or was it an hour?) on the phone walking through the fundamental concepts of takaful with her.
This would probably remain one of my favorites moment in my “talk show” career (hahaha – lol).
It also made me realized what really made the difference is who you work with on projects like this – that’s the magic answer to a fun and meaningful outcome.
Thanks Zara and Natasha for this wonderful memory.

I actually kinda like it – represents the kid inside of me
