MCO 2021

The announcement today surely wasn’t a surprise given the rising trend of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia.

While we can continue to go back into time and blame the politicians for what happened during the Sabah elections, to be fair this time around it isn’t just them – a lot of us took things for granted over the past 2 months or so.

Everyone was everywhere, we start taking chances at restaurants and shops, group activities became a norm – many were working from home, which was meant to reduce the risk, but decided to spent those hours saved to go outside with doing stuff with friends. Many did take precautions but let’s not kid ourselves, many didn’t too. But when one group does it, another wants to do it too and in the grander scheme of things, we cannot differentiate between the two.

Hopefully this time around it becomes a lesson for us and the MCO period is not too long. Many can complain of the boredom (after so many weeks of lalalala) but this next wave of Movement Control Order (MCO) is again going to financially hit many Malaysians out there.

Just when they can see a glimpse of the light at the end of the tunnel, a landslide close the tunnel off again.

Good thing this around we are still allowed go out for recreational activities with our household. I was genuinely worried as it became a routine for my special son and me every afternoon. I will have to deal with tantrums if they totally closed it off like the MCO before – it ain’t easy I tell you.

So people, be considerate and stay home.

We got to cut the chain off as quickly as possible – for the people.
