Sunday Reflection

While me and Ruzain were doing our usual afternoon exercise routine, I had a sudden throwback moment as I watched him walk during our small outdoor walk round, which he calls jogging and when we were doing our three piece exercise relay.

Three things came to mind.

First: I’m thankful for how much more stable Ruzain is – he still has his moments but lesser in intensity and frequency. I also know how much he tries to control it though at times still fails. Such a journey, a beautiful one nevertheless.

Second: I suddenly remembered the moments where he hurt his finger while we were exercising during the pandemic. Also when he was much younger when the shower glass shattered and hurt him at specific places leaving scars still visible till today. When he used to put stuff in his ears and had to get it out via various ways. All the moments we had to go to the hospital and the whole process. Sometimes I wonder how we went through it. Allah must have helped us.

Third: The wonder of the human body as well as the blessings and power of Allah the Almighty. When I look at his finger now, it looks like nothing ever happened. When Dr Ayu (I will forever be thankful to her) told me it might not look the same anymore given the depth and size of the cut, I was contented with the finger still being intact.

Today, it looks just fine and that miracle of the human body, only belongs to Allah.

Thank you Allah.
