Sunny Days

I’m taking a break from work – at least that’s the plan. I actually have so much untaken leave that I will need to somehow clear. And honestly, I need a break too from the hassles of corporate life – it ain’t all pretty all the time. In actual fact, it’s probably the opposite – it’s pretty heartless if you put everything together. But I won’t lie that I’m struggling to get that rest I long for. Probably the reason why I’m writing this post. Truth is I’m experiencing palpitations when I start thinking of the list of things that needs...

Love You, Daddy

2.58am 24 May 2018 | 8 Ramadhan 1439H 69 years old. He left us. He was indeed a legend to the people who knew him, loved by many, my late daddy – Wan Ahmad Lotfi. People knew him with many names: Pak Wan, En. Wan, Pi, Pakcik, Pak Pi, Pengyu – but to me, he was daddy/dy. While I don’t usually admit (the mama boy I am), I do take a lot from him. Selamat Hari Raya

This year’s Ramadan and Syawal is truly unique but it continues to be a colorful and blessed one in its own way. Without us realizing it Ramadan leaves us again and Syawal celebration replaces it. May this Ramadan made us better servants to the Almighty and a better person than we were before. Wishing you a Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri,  Maaf Zahir Batin. Have a blessed and joyous celebration with your loved ones. Stay safe!

Around the Corner

It’s been a while since I wrote anything. Life has been super hectic for the past 2 weeks with the sudden increase in work expectations and pressures (some unnecessary) as well as the usual home routines I need to deal with.  While the MCO has been relaxed, I’ve continued to work at home – playing my part to ensure social distancing continues to be implemented. I’m actually getting a hang of working from home. Bought a few gadgets to help out with the frequent online meetings (self justifying my stress shopping). But I do miss hanging out with friends at...

An Online Talk

Today, another first in my life. It was the premier of an online talk I recorded for members of the Chartered Institute of Islamic Finance (CIIF). Chose to speak about how COVID-19 has impacted takaful – both as an operator/industry as well as to an individual on the street, like you and me.It’s a first time and honestly, it’s awkward to see yourself talk on video. I‘ve developed a new respect for people who have done this regularly and naturally. Mine is a bit sloppy with mispronunciations here and there. But again, just keeping it real. At the end, it...
