Love You, Daddy

2.58am 24 May 2018 | 8 Ramadhan 1439H

69 years old.

He left us.

He was indeed a legend to the people who knew him, loved by many, my late daddy – Wan Ahmad Lotfi.

People knew him with many names: Pak Wan, En. Wan, Pi, Pakcik, Pak Pi, Pengyu – but to me, he was daddy/dy.

While I don’t usually admit (the mama boy I am), I do take a lot from him.

He achieved a lot in life: running the life division of Talasco insurance since the 80s, pioneered Le Tour De Langkawi in 1996 together with his brother, organized the KL Tower Base Jump, ran the OCBC Cycle event, advised a documentary on Astro and many more.

But he wasn’t remembered for all these great life achievements.

He was remembered as the passionate and loving man, who gave it all when he was into something, who cared for people unconditionally regardless who they are, rich or poor (he knows some of the richest man but treats a cleaner with the same respect), young or old (a magnet to kids), normal or disabled.

He was simply a people person, who sincerely cared for others despite not having much in his pocket but tons of love from the heart.

If there is a person who represents unconditional love to the core and award to be given, it would be him.

Wish we had more time with you. We all miss you. Your grandchildren miss you most.

May Allah bless your soul, always.

Love you daddy.
