Freedom

Day 7 of Movement Control Order (MCO).

Or was it Restricted Movement Order (RMO)?

MCO or RMO, its the same – everyone is stuck in their homes.

This morning, I went to start the engines of my car and scooter (which I only ride to the nearby shops and mosque – if the engine doesn’t get started within 2 days, the battery starts dying). While I was pulling the scooter’s throttle to heat up the engine, I took a glimpse outside the house gate and saw the usual white stray cat who typically spends her time hanging out at my porch.

She was walking so freely heading out to the streets like the world was hers.

At that exact moment in time, I realized how free she was, and how confined I was.

How we took for granted the freedom we had, the free access to the world we comfortably live in, the fun and joy it has to offer.

Freedom we had, naturally taken away from us just like that.

And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures.

Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates]. And grain having husks and scented plants.

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

Ar-Rahman 55 : 10 – 13

So to the world (the global problem it has become) – stay home today (and till the situation gets better), so that we can taste back the sweetness of freedom we had before.
