Day 8 of MCO.
Day 1 of 2nd week of MCO.
Surprise! (is it really surprise?), Malaysians get an additional 14 days MCO.
Many of us was expecting this to come considering the increasing trend – it more than doubled from 673 to 1,796 cases in the past 7 days.
When the announcement came out, my thoughts were with my colleagues who are far apart from their family. My teammate in particular left his family at his wife’s hometown in Muar for the school holidays. The day before MCO came into effect, he came back to KL to pickup and setup his laptop to prepare for work from home. Next thing he knows, he is stuck alone at home in KL.
It must be tough for him. I wish I had a solution to provide.
I missed the speech by the Prime Minister in the afternoon as was working in the background on something special for special people (pray for us that everything goes well). But I managed to read the text of the speech later.
Personally I like the messages embedded in the speech, it was straightforward, no hidden agenda, suited for the challenging situation.
You follow my instruction. You know that this is good for you, your family and the people around you. Your awareness and sincerity in abiding by the rules imposed by the government during this Movement Control Order period is highly commendable.
YAB Tan Sri Muhiyiddin Yassin
Malaysia’s 8th Prime Minister
Reminding everyone to be prepared for days to come:
Just be mentally and physically prepared to stay at home for a reasonably longer period of time.
YAB Tan Sri Muhiyiddin Yassin
Malaysia’s 8th Prime Minister
Reminding why we are doing this:
I know you feel burdened but I don’t have a choice. I have to extend the Movement Control Order for your own safety.
YAB Tan Sri Muhiyiddin Yassin
Malaysia’s 8th Prime Minister
It’s a clear message for everyone to understand and follow.
Pray that we get through this together, as safe as we can be.
Stay safe. Stay home.
