Proud

Among the most joyous moments throughout my career actually does not center on my own personal development.

I’m ambitious for sure, I appreciate the meaning of individual success and growth. The ability to scale and implement positive changes expands with power, which can only be achieved via personal growth.

Not saying we can’t introduce changes without being at the top – anyone can do good. But it helps when you’re in a position that can influence a decision or better still – the person who calls the shot.

But then all these doesn’t really give me the joy of working. I don’t go on talking for hours about any of my personal successes. I’m actually pretty shy to do so – it’s just not me.

I do take pride in talking about the people around me who have developed themselves throughout their journey working together with me.

I enjoy seeing someone grow from not able to speak proper English to standing on stage presenting at conferences.

I enjoy seeing people who struggled to find meaning in doing their work to someone who believes and is passionate in delivering their responsibilities, proactively looking for better ways of doing things.

This is the true joy I cherish and look for at work – people development.

While these past few weeks have been tough, I’ve found joy noticing the significant improvements of a team member, from initially being a weak link to becoming a reliable, hardworking and passionate talent.

I started noticing those positive improvements before MCO happened but these past few weeks, it was just too obvious to go unnoticed.

So – this is a post dedicated to you Liyana Syazni. Keep it up, you’re doing an amazing job. Looking forward to greater things from you – one step at a time.

You made us proud.
