Welcome 2023 – Live on TV!

It’s the new year and how best to start it off by appearing on TV!

Hahahaha!

Of course it’s not something I expected to do on the morning for the first day of a new year – usually I would be sleeping in after Subuh to catch up on rest, waking up close to lunch. Fate brought me to the screen and again, talking about money – it’s all about financial literacy.

Still curious how I ended up on the show. I’m pretty sure Era Natasha had something to do with it but this time she mentioned she passed mine and Intan’s contact details to the producer. It still remains a mystery, which does not need to be solved.

This time it was on TV Okey. When I received the invitation email, I wasn’t sure as I never heard of it and it was from a gmail address. The invite was to be on a live show speaking on the topic “Spend less, save more” for a program called Fresh Brew. I immediately looked it up and confirmed it was a legit show. So, I said yes.

I looked up later, TV Okey is actually a channel with it’s primary target audience to be people from East Malaysia. You get to know new facts and knowledge every other day.

When I received the poster for the episode, I laughed – I was at Kota Kinabalu International Airport checking in my bags for the trip back home. I knew people would be responding once I share it considering how misleading the poster was. People probably expected to me sing together with upcoming singer Aisha Retno. In actual fact, it’s two totally separate of the show.

As usual I will have always the jitters each time I come on screen. Though it’s not the first time I went on national TV, it’s still just scary to be a large studio with cameras focusing on you.

But somehow or rather once the ball starts rolling, you start to feel ease and just blend in. I’m lucky the two hosts for the day Meor – who also happens to be a close of my twin cousins and Zoey were both cool and warm hosts.

With Meor and Zoey

I must say I enjoyed myself quite a bit being on the show today – it was one of those relax ones although we were speaking about a topic serious such as money.

As usual, the ones that most excited of me being on TV was family. I rewatched the entire recording later (embarrassed as usual), must say I didn’t do that bad. I expected based on the tough questions they provided earlier. But the session was spontaneous enough, which makes it better for me.

If you feel learning about financial literacy – save more, spend less, feel free watch the recording as per YouTube link. Have fun!
